Warehouse Project Preview - 01/02 October 2010
The second weekend of 2010's Warehouse Project sees probably the biggest pairing of line-ups you're likely to see in Manchester for a very long time.
First up is the Boys Noize Records Party on Friday with Boys Noize, Fake Blood, Housemeister and Shadow Dancer heading the line-up. Expect massive remixes (Boys Noize - Bloc Party, Feist, FrankMusik, Sebastian Tellier. Fake Blood - Little Boots, Armand Van Helden, Hot Chip, Miike Snow) along with selections of the best in all electronic music right now. Add in the fact that these guys are amongst the most experienced touring DJs over the past few years and the night is set to go off with more of a bang then Chinese New Year.
And if that weren't enough, Saturday sees the massive Welcome To The Warehouse. After smashing amazing sets at Glastonbury and Manchester Pride already this year, Kelis comes to Warehouse to dazzle the crowds with a coup of a booking comparable only to M.I.A. in November. Get ready for staple R&B classics from the past decade intertwined with the best from Flesh Tone, her new David Guetta-produced album (and a rendition of 'Sweet Dreams' if you're lucky). As if that wouldn't make the night big enough, support comes from local DJs from clubnights Now Wave and Juicy, the excellent Starsmith and what is sure to be a storming DJ set from Calvin Harris, fresh from his Jedward-bashing, pineapple antics on X Factor earlier in the year.
There we go then. Tickets and dancing shoes at the ready (glowsticks optional) because heavy preparation is needed for one of the biggest weekends Manchester has ever seen.
