Last year, Manchester-based trio The Blinders released their debut album Columbia. Six months down the line, they will play their biggest headline gig yet at the O2 Ritz.
Having raked in a respectable amount of airplay throughout their epic rise up the scene, The Blinders have churned out huge track after huge track. Their lyrics spout insightful takes on today’s pop culture and political landscape, all above whirring riffs and infectious drum beats. Using wit and wisdom, their social commentary is executed through references to dystopia and cult fiction.
Chances are you’ve already come across the former University of Manchester students, who boast support slots for local gangs Cabbage and Blossoms to their name, alongside a whole hoard of festivals. Check out The Blinders’ massive tunes ‘Brave New World’, ‘L’Etat C’est Moi’ and ‘Ramona Flowers’ to get started and prepare to regret not getting into them a whole lot sooner.
The Blinders play Manchester’s O2 Ritz on Saturday, 27th April.
